What a week! It has been crazy around here. We didn't accomplish all we had hoped but did carry through on the promises to the kids. The long weekend had ups and downs and this weeks weather has made progress difficult to say the least. Lets begin with the weekend.
We got the deck started and a little over half finished before rain started Sunday night. We also took the kids to the splash park in Three Hills Saturday and Sunday. They had a blast, it was worth the lack of progress. Then Monday morning we got up and out the door to head to the zoo. This day trip began with some drama. Odin decided that after a whole year of ignoring the chickens to kill one on his morning bathroom trip. Now we are down to 9 chickens. We had an awesome time at the zoo and saw lots of the animals out and about! Even got a little more deck done Monday night! It was quite the weekend!
Friday evening start!
Friday end, enjoying some of the sunset!
Back to it Saturday morning! I was removing the stair rail then the top step when I took the picture!
Done for the morning and off to the splash park!
And apparently I didn't take a picture of progress Satuday evening, Sunday or Monday, but we finished off the first part of the deck and got the first board on the other side. Enjoy some zoo and splash park pictures!
My personal favourite of the plant sculptures!
This red panda is my Spirit Animal!
Wolves!
And surprise I did take some from Monday!
The puppers playing on the deck!
This week has been storm after storm, soaking all the wood and halting deck progress. On the plus side I have got a lot of house work done since yard work has been put on hold for a few days. Laundry and cleaning out the boot room, though neither is entertaining! The kids have a birthday party this weekend and a visit with a neighbour from when we lived in Didsbury. I did get a little more done on the deck early Tuesday, but alone meant it wasn't much.
Ah the storm clouds are coming! Plus a horse escaped again so I had to move him back into the pasture and as soon as I had him in the thunder started so that's all folks!
Of course I was the one home when he got out so I moved him, prompting me to spend the rest of the day sneezing, coughing, itching my eyes out, watery eyes and itchy skin. I was hoping that having taken my allergy medicine as I usually do would help but full contact with the horse was apparently too much for my body.
Now the next week will be spent doing yard work, deck finishing(boards, not rails), and getting all the supplies and food needed for the weekend of fence work! If any of you are up for coming out to help the 19th and 20th! Please come, there will be food and beverages for everyone! Just bring a drill if you have one, and maybe a crow bar as well. We appreciate you all!
Talk to you all later!
