Geez, the weather has been crazy! This week being one of the hottest we have had yet means we didn't make much progress on the yard. We managed to maintain everything but that is it. Finally the rain is coming and hopefully the cooler temperatures stick around for awhile. It will make the house warming party we have coming up so much nicer if it isn't over 30+ degrees.
The beginning of this week started not so well. I was hoping to make more progress on the rock garden, but it was too hot to do the digging, rototilling, etc. that needs to be done. I ended up mowing the weeds in the garden as spending hours picking them was not an option for me this week. The one thing that seems to be growing very well is the weeds. The heat has been to kind to them. One plus side is the large amount that popped up this week have actually helped the soil retain some moisture. Hopefully with the rain that is coming the grass will start recovering! It would be nice to have it look healthy for the party.
I tried to buy a pool this week as some finally became available! My luck ran out though as the website crashed before I could pay and by the time I had it back up they were sold out again. Sigh. The kids were really hoping for one, but I guess they will have to wait. I was even going to buy a doggy one so at least we could have that. I then remembered that Odin was getting neutered just this past Friday. No swimming for him for two more weeks. Poor pup, his favourite thing to do is wander on our walks and dip into the ponds near our house. We are happy that if he should wander and find a lady friend at least there will be no babies! So far we have been lucky, he doesn't wander out of the fence unless we walk out of the yard and comes back when called.
Hopefully we will get to do more things in the yard next week so that the blog will be more interesting! Thanks for following along with us.
