Well it had to happen. Life has started to get back to normal. Most of the house is unpacked and more of the outside has been unpacked as well. Now both my husband and I have returned to work; the less fun part of getting back to normal. I started back this weekend as I only work weekends. At the time I post this my husband will have had his first couple days back after two weeks off. Our projects will be moving a little slower as we don't have any days off together.
This weekend we had lots of fun. The kids got to go to a friends house, which made their day. When I got home from work Saturday we took our son for a tractor ride. And when I got home from work on Sunday my son was excited to tell me all about the planting he did while I was at work. He also apparently woke up this morning and told my husband he was going to garden and wouldn't even come in to eat breakfast. My husband had to take food out to him. I think maybe he likes to garden.
Our son has really loved the garden! And since I am posting this late I can add some updates there. His tomato plant now has many tomatoes growing. Sadly, his strawberry plant died a couple days after transplanting. We still have the plants that were here from previous owners which are doing very well. The irises are blooming and a bunch of the other plants have bud or have just started blooming. I wish I knew what more of them are. Maybe I will post pictures in the next post and if you have any clue you can let me know.
On the opposite side of growth I have been clearing dead hedges and pruning dead parts of trees off. This is a lot of work. Why do the dead parts take more to cut than the living bits? Why? I think we will need to buy a chainsaw soon to get the bigger dead parts. Yay! Heavy duty tools! I still have a lot to go but at least what I have done looks so much better! That has been the total of the last week. Yard work and finishing unpacking what we can.
Talk to you again next week sometime!
