Smoky Again

The start of this week was really good weather and no smoke! Unfortunately, we all ended up not feeling all that well. We didn't get much done early in the week, but we tried to make up for it late in the week and the weekend! Too bad the smoke decided to head back this way as soon as everyone was feeling better.

Once we were feeling better we got to work, watering the plants outside and then taking down the wood wall in our living room. It was to smoky to be outside for long. We really like the look but the light colour behind the wood we did not like. Here is a picture of some of the wood removed.

Here is a picture of all the wood off. Now we just have to go buy some brown paint and paint the wall! This should look better through the wood than the yellowish white colour that is currently on the wall. After we paint we will replace the wood and maybe hang the t.v on the wall.

This was the total we got done Friday and Saturday. Then came today! Sunday Funday! We decided that we would finally get to the Royal Tyrrell Museum, since our son has been asking all summer. Of course once we got there he just went as fast as he could through. We spent less than an hour in the museum.... Both the kids really enjoyed the interpretive trail we did! We then did the eleven bridges that go to Wayne, Alberta! There was a lot of cars and people at the Last Chance Saloon. Everyone must have been enjoying the nice weather! The Star Mine suspension bridge was closed so we didn't get the chance to do this again. On the way there and then the trip home we decided to take a route we had never been on. We took the Bleriot Ferry road. It was actually the shortest and easiest trip to the museum. Of course to go to Drumheller that way you have to go during the spring and summer when the ferry is open. Then, we also stopped at the Horse Thief Canyon lookout near the Ferry. I will post some photos of our day at the end of the post.

Now updates on the acreage! We sold all of our corral panels that we won't use, and one of the horse shelters! The people who bought them came and got them Wednesday and Thursday and it has made the yard look even bigger! We also bought a truck, a used truck that has many miles but it will be perfect for some errands and hauling bigger things. This coming week we are picking up the table that James built for lego and a desk I bought! So next week should hopefully bring some garden expansion work, weeding, organizing the craft/lego/exercise room and hopefully more work on the fire pit part of the future rock garden. Now for the pictures of the trip.

Now for the pictures from the museum and the interpretive trail.

The kids enjoyed the trail and the park outside the museum the most, but all around it was a really good day! Talk to you all next time!
