Sorry about disappearing there. We are very behind and not just on the blog. Life got in the way of many of our plans. Ouch! That hurt a bit I forgot to go back to read the last blog and I did not realize it has been sooo long since we last posted. My goodness.... Sorry!
So the main part of this is we are alive. Big updates on projects and garden are coming. I just have to catch up. I will be posting more blogs hopefully this week with all those updates. It is too much for one blog. We were away so long, as June was a crazy month life wise, with school ending James officially being in his new job. At the end of june my body also joined the party and decided I should be sick for most of the summer. I got a bad cold that lingered for nearly 4 weeks. Walking around caused my heart rate to climb way to high and I was exhausted, coughing, and gross feeling. Then I finally started to feel better week 4 and bam symptoms suddenly get bad again and I started a fever... And *drum roll* I now have COVID. There went another 2 weeks of my summer. Then finally a week into August I start feeling better. So here I am at the end of August finally trying to update you all.
The kids and husband got nothing! I assume that at least one of them brought it home but remained asymptomatic as I didn't go anywhere after the last day of school even with testing negative for COVID for those first 4 weeks as the coughing was bad. And they never have shown any signs since I got sick and are well past the time they should have developed symptoms or tested positive. Jerks! I am asking you to kindly ignore the terrible weeds everywhere in any pictures. I couldn't keep up with them and life liked to toss things at us so my husband couldn't keep up with them with taking care of all his things, the kids, and as much of my chores as possible. And I do mean terrible..
This is the driveway :(. It drives me nuts, I think we need to get a better sprayer so that if this perfect storm should happen again we can cover more ground faster.
First update is Chickens! Those ladies have grown a ton. We still have all 16 despite their decision to be even more free range than we wanted them to be. They are always outside of the electric fence. They have also started laying eggs!! We have had a total of 42 eggs in the last week and half! If anyone who lives close by would like to buy some we can let you know when we have some for sale. Our daughter originally wanted to sell them for 1 dollar per egg. We talked her down to 5 dollars a dozen.
These are two of them! They come over to greet me every time I come outside because they think I am always bringing them food. Then they yell at me when I don't have food.
First two eggs!
Our son and daughter are loving collecting the eggs!
One day I came back from a walk with the dog and they had layed 6 eggs in less than an hour.
And that is the update I have for you all! I will hopefully be posting again tomorrow with a garden update. Talk to you all later. Bye!
