Hey all! Man, has it been awhile. I really didn't feel like writing the blog lately. I can't even blame it on lack of energy, as I have been feeling better than I have in a long while. Though maybe that is the problem, James and I have been feeling pretty good and with that we are busier doing things around the house. We, this will shock you all, didn't even have time to put up our Halloween decorations! The horror. The kiddos were sad about it but some of it is their fault. Let's jump into it!
We have completed more projects in the basement that I won't be mentioning in this post as I am going to include them in the basement update when the other projects are completed.... The suspense!
We have got the chicken coop all ready for winter! The heated waterers are in the coop and we dismantled the auto waterer for the winter! It is nice to have it ready but I already miss the maybe once a week filling the tank with the hose. Hauling the two heated waterers out to fill every two days is going to be a pain, and somehow this has become my job. The new addition to their coop is closed off to allow the ground to recover nicely next year. They won't be allowed back over until the grass is growing. The nice part is as the grass is damaged we can shut it off and allow it to grow back again. James thought it was going to be a whole process to get them out and was shocked that I just got them over no problem. The things all animals will do when you top up their food. They still had lots but all I had to do was toss some on the ground and add some leaves and bam over to the original side they came.
The garden is all put to bed now. All the planters have been tracked down and emptied. It is sad to see everything gone and all plants dead for the winter. Our trees have zero leaves. This year it felt very much like fall went from 0 to 60. We had two days of yellow leaves then a wind storm hit and bye bye leaves. My geraniums, that after a heat wave I was sure were dead, hung on until our first snow. It was nice to see their bright colour but alas even they could not hold up to the freezing temps. Now that it is cold and we have energy it is time for the house!
Now the projects that have happened are not the ones we had originally planned on. I was cleaning out the dogs room so that we have less in the room. I figured since the dresser that was in there was sold and our linen closet has less in it(bedding now in containers in our closet) that most of the dog stuff could be stored in there. No mice in that room maybe! Thor would have so much more room when he is inside. At least that was the plan.
With having the cricut, when James' job decided to all go as emojis for Halloween he asked if I would be willing to make the shirts for them. I did! They turned out awesome! I will post a picture at the end of this blurb. Sadly, this meant I had to spend a lot of time in the basement in the evenings on the cold concrete floor and the dogs were unhappy with being separated from me. Yes this is my fault as I ripped apart the basement, no need to remind me. Well this lead to a idea! Do you see where this is going yet? No? Don't worry you will. Anyways I finished the shirts and decided to bring up said idea to James. He thought it was a good idea, so with only his shirt left to do we began the process. First, picture of the shirts!
James' shirt! He was not there for the group photo!
No faces for you! This is most of the shirts minus a few. I will post one that they gave their boss, as it is funny!
Sorry I had to crop it as it would give away my genius idea!
Now maybe at this point you have guessed the project! I moved my craft room upstairs to Thor's room! The dogs will be able to come in and out and we don't have rely on the kids to watch them. Let me tell you how awesome that is since they are kind of terrible at making sure the dogs cough Odin cough don't get into anything. Now everything is safe from him except the floor and mostly he will be outside during the day as apparently, unless it is really cold, it is torture for him to be in the nice mostly warmish house. Now, it was completed a lot sooner than I had intended as the kiddos really wanted to paint, and as soon as I brought the spare paint from the basement up they wouldn't wait. The walls in that room are now the same as our daughter's old room(though not for long!). Oops hinting at the basement projects! So we got to painting, which I only convinced James of as it didn't cost anything! He is going to build me more table space and a gift wrapping area(really just poles on the wall to hold the wrapping paper)! Pictures are better than words so here is how that went! Now I just need to decorate with my pictures, paintings and vinyl creations!
Our daughter was having a sleepover and her friend also wanted to help so away they painted!
Clean up!
The gray walls!
Desk in place! Sorry the room is really tiny so it is very hard to get pictures that show good angles.
All my stuff, plus happy dog tail!
And all my craft stuff is moved in and the next update to this will be when my wrapping area is installed!
I have also deep cleaned the upstairs, just have the main bathroom to go. I won't show pictures since within 5 minutes you can't tell I did anything. Sigh, I really hate cleaning. I think that is all I can include in this blog. The kiddos cleaned their rooms very well so the basement blog should be coming in a few weeks hopefully! It might leave out a few last minute things but I will include those in regular blogs later. Anyways I should really go do my laundry and go for my run. Enjoy this picture with zero details that is a hint to one of the basement projects!
It is not done yet but our daughter requested I do a painting for one of the projects.
Talk to you all next blog. No promises that it will be next week as I might have nothing to update until the basement is mostly done! Bye!!
